We the jury find the defendant….
…not guilty. So I had jury duty a couple of weeks ago. I meant to post the night after my jury duty, but as usual I started then i got lazy and decided not to complete it.
This was my first time to be called for jury duty, and of course, I got assigned to a case. I thought it was going to be really boring but it ended up being pretty interresting and I learned that there is a big difference between being “not guilty” and “innocent”. Without going into many details, basically the IPD set up one of those drug stings like on Cops. They had an informant that was wired with a microphone and was to sell cocane to this dude. The informant did that and they found the evidence on the bastard and arrested him. But apparently the IPD fucked up (not a surprise) and failed to do a couple of fairly simple investigation details and acted sloppy and had an informant who kept changing his story every 2 seconds.
We went into deliberation and it didn’t take too long. Everybody believed that the guy committed the crime, but we had to let him go because of the evidence that was presented.
I got to hold some crack cocane and drugs are bad.
